On this day we were set a task to bring in 10 personal possessions from home to class. We were then asked to do multiple drawings of each object one by one. Firstly, we had to choose one of our objects that has an important meaning to us and has a story behind it. I chose my watch that my sister bought me on my 18th birthday.
We then had to lay out all of our objects on the table and sketch only the outline shape of all the objects put together and write what each object means to me.
Object 1:
Computer Mouse: I brought this object because it is an essential part of my life, as without it i wouldn't be able to use my computer, therefore not being able to create this blog post. Also, i find it o be an interesting shaped object to draw.
Object 2:
Dre Beats Headphones: I chose this object because they get me through my day as they provide me with music. I mainly use them when I am bored on long bus journeys or when I am doing work. Without music I would feel lost.
Object 3:
Tresor Bracelet: I was given this bracelet on my 16th birthday and have cherished it since as it was a big birthday and the bracelet contains Swarovski crystals.
Object 4 & 5:
Glass Chess Pieces: This chess piece means a lot to me as the last time I played with it was with my uncle who has since passed away therefore it reminds me of him. Also, I find it aesthetically pleasing as the clouded glass gives it an eye catching effect.
Object 6:
Turkey Boxing Glove: This glove symbolises my nationality which is Turkish Cypriot and is also relevant to me as some of my family are boxers.
Object 7:
Versace Strapback Hat: I brought this object as it is something I wear often and is my defining look as i wear hats most of the time.
Object 8:
Hugo Boss Aftershave: I have worn this aftershave everyday for many years so it gives me quite a distinctive smell and is my favourite smell.
Object 9:
Car Key: This is the key to my Fiat Grande Punto. My car is a big part of my life as I have owned it for nearly 2 years and use it everyday. I use it to get everywhere and would now be lost without it as I have been used to driving everywhere. My car gives me a sense of freedom and independence.
Object 10:
Keyring: This keyring is in the shape of a turbo, which symbolises the turbo in my car and love and passion for cars and everything fast. I have had a passion for cars and speed from when I was a child and it has grown since. I plan to base my career around cars and will use this foundation course to get me into an Automotive design course.
Then finally we had to choose a random person in the class and draw their face whilst talking to them and asking questions about them. We then handed over our drawings for their critique.
As you can see Molly critiqued my work by writing that the hair is good, the eyes have nice shape, the eyebrows are good/accurate however she put there is no mouth, which there isn't because I ran out of time with the short time constraints.
