For this day were assigned to create a short story from 6 pictures I have taken.
The story I made here was that I woke up in the morning and I look on a car window and see water beads all over it showing that the weather is cold and wet.
In the next picture I am now at the bus stop and waiting for the bus to Uni, however I am running late, and my day is just getting worse.
The bad day is then personified by an empty miserable looking bus journey.
However as I am getting closer to Uni my day is starting to take an upturn as the sun is starting to come out and the streets are starting full, showing my lift in emotions.
In the next picture I have finally arrived at Uni.
I then look up and see that the skys are blue and that my day might just be a good one.
We were then set the task of taking pictures of certain key words given to us.
These key words were:
Fall
Sad
Jump
Crush
Here are some of the pictures that I took:
This picture represents fall, as Daniel is dropping a leaf from the tree it is falling, representing the word 'Fall'.
This picture represents the word sad, as I was taking pictures of the o2 arena, I realised that this part of the dome almost looked like it was frowning so I felt that it represented the word 'sad' well.
Here is the picture I took for the word jump. As you can see it is quite self explanatory because it shows a person jumping off the ground. For this picture I asked Abdul to jump off the ground then I quickly took a photo. As the photo was so fast and in motion I had to to turn up the exposure and shutter speed on my camera so that it could capture this moment without it being a blur or too late.
This picture represents the word echo. For this picture, I got an empty glass bottle of Voss and put my camera down the stem of it and took a picture of it. I feel that this picture shows echo, because tunnels are known to echo sounds well and as the focus is on the very bottom of the bottle, it gives a lot of blur and motion to the rest of bottle which shows how it would effect sound in an echo way.
I also took this picture for the word Jump as it clearly shows Olivia about to leap to the ground from the blue pole. I like this photograph because it shows motion and captures Olivia just as she is about to jump and thrusts herself forward.
This photo I took depicts the word Crush. This photograph I took shows Billa about to throw a large heavy rock. The reason this word represents the word Crush is because, anything that is going to be hit by that large heavy rock that Billa is throwing, is going to inevitably crushed.
This is another photograph I took for the word crush. This photograph is more self explanatory why it represents the word Crush. This is because the bike tire is running over Hermenia's foot, which is crushing it.
Therefore, I took a picture of Sam's eye on my camera phone. I then printed it out onto A4 paper. I then printed out a picture of the Earth and also a picture of an earthquake crack. By combining these images, using nothing but glue, I was able to create this illusion.
The meaning behind this illusion I created is that it shows that the world is part of everyone, however there is more than meats the eye, which is why I used the earthquake crack below the eye. This shows that Sam is undergoing a lot of stress, just like the earth is, Sam's tiredness of bags under his eyes, represents the Earths constant damage that it is self inflicting with natural disasters.
